Research indicates that TV OB vehicles generally employ one of three body structure types: rigid-body, trailer-based, and integrated-body. The trailer-based structure is typically used for extra-large or large OB vehicles that require extensive workspace and a high volume of equipment; these vehicles are characterized by numerous production workstations, spacious interiors, and high load-bearing capacity. The rigid-body structure is generally suited for medium-sized OB vehicles; while they offer substantial equipment capacity and load-bearing strength, their interior space and number of workstations are more limited compared to trailer-based models. The integrated-body structure is commonly used for smaller OB vehicles that require greater maneuverability.
OB vehicle design requires maximizing the use of limited interior space while prioritizing human-machine interaction and operator comfort. Modular integration of production workstations allows for the efficient arrangement of numerous workstations and equipment racks within the confined interior.
