The converged media outside broadcast (OB) vehicle is a mobile, all-media production hub integrating Ultra-High-Definition (UHD) acquisition, IP-based production and broadcasting, 5G transmission, and multi-platform distribution. It is primarily used for live broadcasts of major sporting events and galas, on-site reporting of breaking news, emergency command and dispatch, and streamlined production for small-to-medium-sized events.
1. Major Sports Events and Variety Galas: Handles public signal production for top-tier events (such as the Olympic Games, National Games, and the Chinese Super League) and national-level galas. It supports 4K/8K UHD, 3D audio (5.1.4), and immersive VR/AR live streaming, enabling real-time multi-camera switching (8–40+ channels) and slow-motion replay.
2. Breaking News and Emergency Reporting: Leverages high mobility to rapidly reach the scenes of disasters or unexpected incidents. Uses 5G/microwave backhaul to enable "stop-and-broadcast" capabilities, simultaneously producing and distributing multiple content versions (landscape/portrait) for both television and internet platforms.
3. Converged Media Content Matrix Distribution: Facilitates the simultaneous production of various content formats - tailored for large TV screens, mobile screens (portrait mode), social media, and outdoor displays - from a single acquisition source, supporting "large-and-small screen integration" and real-time multi-platform streaming.
4. Local Events and Streamlined Productions: Utilizes AI-driven lightweight production and NDI/IP technologies to lower deployment barriers. It serves small-to-medium-scale scenarios such as county-level basketball tournaments, campus events, and conferences, delivering professional-grade live broadcasts at a low cost.
5. Remote Production and Cloud Collaboration: Acts as a front-end acquisition node, transmitting signals via fiber optics or 5G to the cloud or a central studio. This enables a REMI (Remote Integration Production) model - characterized by a "light front-end, heavy back-end" workflow - thereby reducing the need for on-site personnel and equipment.
